The Vision

Wonderland was founded by Beatrice and Thomas Mayes, dedicated educators determined to offer rare opportunities to our community

1966

The Mayes founded Wonderland Private School at Dixie in 1966 with 30 students. Renamed Wonderland Private School, educating children aged 18mo to 4 years

1985

In 1985, Wonderland expanded to educate children from kindergarten through 8th grade with the opening of the Beatrice Mayes Institute

2001 - Today

In 2001, BMI became a public charter school. Together, Wonderland Private School and BMI now educate over 500 students annually
